Project Coordinator, Indigenous Leadership Academy
Kelcie (Diné) is the Project Coordinator for the Indigenous Leadership Academy at American Indian Policy Institute. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education with an emphasis in English Language Arts from Arizona State University, along with a minor in American Indian Studies. With a decade of experience in public secondary education, Kelcie has recently served as the Program Specialist for the Native American Education Program at Phoenix Union High School District wherein she led a variety of initiatives to enhance academic and cultural enrichment opportunities for students and families.
Her experience and work are rooted in the importance of advocating for cultural visibility within educational institutions while also fostering a sense of community. Through developed partnerships with local tribal entities and community organizations, Kelcie is a firm believer in professional relationship-building and working together to advance cultural representation and equity in education for Indigenous scholars.
In supporting ILA’s values and mission, Kelcie is dedicated to fostering Indigenous knowledge and leadership, building capacity through community-embedded initiatives, and reinforcing the strength of digital sovereignty in her role.
