Call To Action: FCC To Host Tribal Consultation Sessions and Tribal Workshop on Proposed Updates to NEPA Rules

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced two in-person Tribal consultation opportunities and a Tribal workshop regarding potential changes to its National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) rules. These opportunities are open to federally-recognized Tribal Nations and Native Hawaiian Organizations (NHOs).
Information
The first Tribal consultation session will take place on September 8-9, 2025 in Reno, NV, coinciding with the 25th Annual National Association of Tribal Historic Preservation Officers Conference. Interested stakeholders may request an in-person Tribal consultation by emailing [email protected]. Staff will respond to schedule a session. On-site confirmation will also be available.

The second consultation opportunity will follow a workshop for Tribal Nations and NHOs hosted by the Coalition of Large Tribes (COLT) on Thursday, September 11, 2025. The workshop is intended to provide information on FCC initiatives in Tribal communities, and will take place from 1:15 p.m. - 4:00 p.m CT. More information can be found on the FCC’s workshop event page. The Tribal consultation session will follow at 4:00 p.m and is scheduled for one hour.
