Overview of the Project
Between 2012 and 2013, the ASU American Indian Policy Institute and Labriola National American Indian Data Center partnered with the Inter-Tribal Council of Arizona (ITCA) in documenting its legacy of service to Tribes in Arizona.  The first phase of the project focused on the gathering of historical documents from archives within Arizona and the cataloging of these and other documents at the ITCA offices.

Despite a lack of access, higher prices for broadband and often non-existent infrastructure, leaders in some Tribal communities have developed a vision and built self-sufficient networks and community technology centers to connect and strengthen their communities. Indian Country is finding a myriad of ways to cross the Digital Divide.

Mission

We support Tribal sovereignty through examination, exploration, and elevation of issues impacting communities and American Indian and Alaska Native peoples.
